TempSMSVerify handles verification codes, payments and account data, so here is exactly how each one is protected, what we store, for how long, and what we never do.

## Is TempSMSVerify safe to use?

Yes. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout and never reach our servers. Each code is shown only to the account that bought the number, your SMS history can be deleted on request, and your balance is charged only when a code arrives. If no code arrives, the amount is refunded automatically.

## How are payments protected?

Card payments run on Stripe Checkout, a page hosted by Stripe. Your card number, expiry date and security code go directly to Stripe and never pass through TempSMSVerify's servers. We only receive the payment status and amount, so there is no card database on our side to leak.

Crypto top-ups are confirmed by reading the public blockchain, and each payment request carries a unique reference so it is matched to your account only. Balance is credited exactly once per payment, even if a confirmation arrives twice.

## Who can see my verification codes?

Only you. The SMS sent to a number you bought is shown in your dashboard and through your API key, and nowhere else. Every message you pay for is delivered to you; we never hold back or redirect codes.

SMS content is kept as part of your order history, so you can look back at past codes and so support can review a ticket. You can ask us to delete your SMS history at any time by writing to contact@tempsmsverify.com, and it is removed if you delete your account.

## How is my account protected?

- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored or emailed in plain text.
- Sessions use signed tokens that are invalidated when you reset your password.
- Sign-up and login are protected by captcha and rate limits against automated attacks.
- API keys are stored as hashes, shown once when generated, and generating a new key revokes the old one.
- We never ask for passwords to other services, only your TempSMSVerify login.

## Will I be charged if the code never arrives?

No. When you buy a number, its price is held from your balance, not charged. You are charged only when an SMS arrives. If the number expires without a code, or you cancel before one arrives, the held amount returns to your balance automatically. You can verify every movement in your transaction history.

## How do you prevent abuse?

Temporary numbers are for verifying your own accounts and testing your own products. Our Acceptable Use Policy forbids fraud, impersonation, spam, ban evasion and access to financial or government accounts that are not yours. We monitor for abuse patterns and close accounts that break the rules, which keeps the service usable and the numbers healthy for everyone.

## How do I report a security issue?

If you find a vulnerability or suspect your account was accessed by someone else, email contact@tempsmsverify.com with the details and how to reproduce it. Please don't publish the issue before we have had a chance to fix it. We review every report and reply as soon as we can.

### Does TempSMSVerify store my card details?

No. Card payments happen on Stripe's hosted checkout, and the card number goes directly to Stripe. TempSMSVerify receives only the payment result, the amount and limited details such as the card brand and last four digits, so there is no card database on our side.

### Do you keep my SMS messages?

SMS text and codes stay in your order history so you can check past codes and support can review a ticket. You can ask contact@tempsmsverify.com to delete your SMS history at any time, and it is removed if you delete your account.

### Can anyone else read the codes sent to my number?

No. A number you buy is reserved for your account while it is active, and its SMS is shown only in your dashboard and through your own API key. We don't publish codes and we don't share them with other customers, unlike public inbox sites.

### Is using a temporary number safe for my accounts?

It is safe for verification, but a temporary number expires and may later be reassigned. Don't use it as the long-term recovery phone for important accounts. After verifying, add an authenticator app or backup codes so you never depend on that number again.

### What happens if I suspect someone accessed my account?

Reset your password right away with Forgot password on the login page; a reset signs out every other session. Then generate a new API key if you use one, which revokes the old key, and email contact@tempsmsverify.com so we can review recent activity with you.
