DaisySMS alternative: where to go after the shutdown

DaisySMS, a US-focused SMS verification service, shut down on March 26, 2026. Its users lost a service known for US numbers, a pay-when-the-code-arrives model and an SMS-Activate-compatible API. This page explains what the closure notice says, what it does not say, and how to choose a replacement based on what you actually used DaisySMS for.

Quick answer

What is the best DaisySMS alternative in 2026?

It depends on what you used. For one-time US codes and SMS-Activate-style scripts, TempSMSVerify offers US numbers, the same handler_api protocol and billing where you are charged only when the SMS arrives. If you relied on DaisySMS's long-term rentals, area code or carrier choice, pick a provider that offers rentals instead.

Verdict

DaisySMS is gone: its site says it shut down on March 26, 2026, after announcing the closure on February 24. TempSMSVerify matches its billing rule and its API protocol for one-time verifications in 140+ countries, including the US. It does not offer DaisySMS's area code or carrier filters, long-term rentals or a promised line type.

What happened to DaisySMS?

The notice that now replaces daisysms.com (checked October 24, 2026) says simply that DaisySMS has shut down on March 26, 2026, and lists a timeline. On February 24, 2026, the shutdown was announced on the website and in its Telegram channel, new sign-ups and balance top-ups were disabled, and emails went to every user with a non-zero balance.

On March 11 a second round of emails went to users with a balance of 5.00 or more, and from March 19 to March 25 daily reminders went to anyone who still had a positive balance. On March 26 the site shut down, and the notice says any questions should be sent to [email protected]. It names no successor and gives no reason for the closure.

What happened to DaisySMS balances?

The official notice does not say whether remaining balances were refunded, could be withdrawn or were lost. It only documents the reminder emails sent to users with money left in their accounts. Third-party articles give conflicting accounts, so treat any claim that is not on daisysms.com with caution.

If you still had a balance, the only channel the notice gives is [email protected]. TempSMSVerify is not affiliated with DaisySMS, has no access to its accounts and cannot recover or transfer balances. Be careful with look-alike sites that use the DaisySMS name: the original notice does not point to any replacement.

Which DaisySMS replacement fits what you used it for?

DaisySMS did several jobs, and no single service replaces all of them equally well. Start from the feature you actually depended on.

  • One-time US verification codes in the browser: TempSMSVerify offers US numbers, shows the SMS in your dashboard and charges only when it arrives. See /countries/usa.
  • SMS-Activate-style scripts and bots: TempSMSVerify serves the same handler_api protocol, so most clients move by changing the base URL and key. See /api-docs.
  • Long-term US rentals: TempSMSVerify does not rent numbers. Services with rentals, such as those compared on /compare/textverified-alternative and /compare/smspool-alternative, are a better fit.
  • Area code or carrier selection: not available on TempSMSVerify. If an app requires a specific area code, choose a provider that documents that filter.
  • A promised line type: TempSMSVerify does not promise non-VoIP lines. Our numbers come from HeroSMS and 5sim lines, and the provider sets the type. See /glossary/non-voip-number.

Does TempSMSVerify bill like DaisySMS?

In the way that mattered most, yes. DaisySMS's pre-closure homepage said you were charged only once you got the SMS code and got your money back if you did not use the number in time. TempSMSVerify follows the same rule: buying a number freezes its price, the charge happens when the SMS arrives, and if nothing arrives before the number expires after up to 20 minutes, the amount is released automatically.

Two details differ. Extra codes the app sends while a TempSMSVerify number is active are included at no extra cost, and there is no penalty for requesting another code. And because top-ups start at $5 and the balance never expires, you can keep a small balance without losing it to inactivity.

How do I move a DaisySMS API script?

DaisySMS documented an SMS-Activate-compatible API at daisysms.com/stubs/handler_api.php, with api_key in the URL and actions such as getBalance, getNumber, getStatus and setStatus. TempSMSVerify serves the same protocol at https://tempsmsverify.com/api/stubs/handler_api.php, so the core loop of buy, poll and finish works after a base URL and key change.

DaisySMS-only extras will not work here and should be removed: the areas, carriers and number filters, the duration and renewable parameters for long-term rentals, and the keep and getExtraActivation actions. Service codes also differ, so call getServicesList and getCountries first; the US is country 187 in our SMS-Activate numbering.

When is another provider the better DaisySMS replacement?

If your workflow depended on keeping the same US number for weeks, on picking an area code or carrier, or on a line type promise, TempSMSVerify is not the right tool, and we would rather say so. Look for a provider that documents those features on its own pages and test it with a small balance first.

TempSMSVerify is a good DaisySMS replacement when you need one-time US codes, want to keep using SMS-Activate-style tools, want the same pay-on-delivery rule and would also like access to 140+ countries beyond the US.

What are the rules for using a DaisySMS alternative?

The same ones every reputable provider applies: verify only accounts you own, follow each app's terms and never use numbers for fraud, spam, impersonation or getting around bans. TempSMSVerify also excludes banks, fintechs, crypto exchanges and betting. Read /acceptable-use before you start.

How to switch from DaisySMS

  1. 1

    Settle your DaisySMS questions

If you had a balance, write to [email protected], the only contact the closure notice gives.

  2. 2

    Create a TempSMSVerify account

Sign up and add at least $5 using Card via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay); Crypto (USDC or SOL on Solana). API access unlocks after your first top-up.

  3. 3

    Generate an API key

Open the API section of your dashboard and create a key. It is shown once, so store it safely.

  4. 4

    Change the base URL

Replace daisysms.com/stubs/handler_api.php with https://tempsmsverify.com/api/stubs/handler_api.php and paste the new api_key.

  5. 5

    Remove DaisySMS-only parameters

Drop areas, carriers, number, duration, renewable, keep and getExtraActivation, then map service codes with getServicesList.

  6. 6

    Run a test activation

Call getNumber with country 187, poll getStatus every few seconds and finish with setStatus 6, or cancel with setStatus 8.

FAQ

DaisySMS alternative FAQ

Did DaisySMS shut down?

Yes. The notice on daisysms.com (checked October 24, 2026) says DaisySMS shut down on March 26, 2026. The closure was announced on February 24, 2026, when new sign-ups and balance top-ups were disabled. The notice names no successor. TempSMSVerify is an independent service and is not affiliated with DaisySMS.

Can I get my DaisySMS balance back?

The closure notice does not say whether balances were refunded or could be withdrawn. It says users with a balance received emails on February 24 and March 11 and daily reminders from March 19 to 25, and that questions should go to [email protected]. TempSMSVerify has no access to DaisySMS accounts and cannot recover balances.

Is there a new DaisySMS website?

Not according to DaisySMS. Its closure notice names no successor or new domain. Sites that use the DaisySMS name or a similar domain are not the original service, so check carefully before you top up anywhere. TempSMSVerify uses its own name and simply supports the same SMS-Activate API protocol DaisySMS used.

Will my DaisySMS script work with TempSMSVerify?

The core flow usually will. DaisySMS used an SMS-Activate-compatible handler_api, and TempSMSVerify serves the same protocol at /api/stubs/handler_api.php. Change the base URL and api_key, remove DaisySMS-only parameters such as areas, carriers and duration, and confirm service codes with getServicesList before running a test order.

Does TempSMSVerify have non-VoIP US numbers like DaisySMS?

TempSMSVerify does not promise a line type. Our US numbers come from HeroSMS and 5sim lines, and the provider sets the type. What we do promise is that you are charged only if the code arrives, so a number an app rejects costs nothing. Check /glossary/non-voip-number for what the line type means.

Can I choose an area code or carrier like on DaisySMS?

No. DaisySMS's API offered area code and carrier filters at a 20% surcharge, and TempSMSVerify has no equivalent filter. Numbers are assigned by the line provider. If an app only accepts a specific area code or carrier, choose a provider that documents that option, and use TempSMSVerify for one-time codes that do not need it.

Can I rent a US number long-term after DaisySMS?

Not on TempSMSVerify, which only offers one-time verifications reserved for up to 20 minutes. DaisySMS offered long-term rentals of up to a year. For that job, look at providers with rentals, such as those compared on our TextVerified and SMSPool alternative pages, and keep TempSMSVerify for one-time codes.

How does TempSMSVerify billing compare with DaisySMS?

It follows the same core rule: you pay only when the SMS arrives. On TempSMSVerify, the price is frozen at purchase and released automatically if no code arrives before expiry. Extra codes on an active number are included, top-ups start at $5 with Card via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay); Crypto (USDC or SOL on Solana) and the balance never expires.
