Spanish phone numbers for SMS verification
A Spain temporary number gives you a +34 Spanish number for one sign-up, so you can receive a verification code from apps that expect a number from Spain. TempSMSVerify reserves the number in your browser, shows the code as soon as it lands and charges you only if the SMS actually arrives.

Why do apps ask for a Spanish phone number?
In Spain almost everything runs through WhatsApp, from booking a hairdresser to talking to a landlord, and local platforms expect a +34 number. Wallapop, the country's most popular second-hand marketplace, asks for an SMS code when you register, and delivery and ride apps such as Glovo and Cabify use the phone number to link your account to Spanish cities.
People abroad often need a Spanish number before they arrive: students starting an Erasmus year, remote workers on Spain's digital nomad visa, or anyone selling to Spanish customers. Developers also use +34 numbers to test that their forms handle a 9-digit format with no trunk prefix.
- Setting up accounts before moving to Spain for study or remote work
- Buying and selling on Spanish marketplaces
- Testing 9-digit +34 numbers in your own sign-up flow
- Keeping your personal number off a one-time sign-up
What does a Spanish mobile number look like?
Spanish numbers always have 9 digits and, unlike most of Europe, there is no leading 0 to remove. Mobile numbers start with 6 or with 7 (the 71 to 74 ranges were opened when 6 numbers ran short); landlines start with 8 or 9, for example 91 for Madrid or 93 for Barcelona.
So the number you see in your dashboard is the same number you type after +34: 612 345 678 becomes +34 612 345 678. If a form asks you to remove a 0, that is a sign it was built for another country; just enter the 9 digits.
| National format | International format | |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile example | 612 345 678 | +34 612 345 678 |
| Mobile prefixes | 6, 71 to 74 | +34 6, +34 71 to 74 |
| Digits | 9 (no trunk 0) | 9 after +34 |
| Landline example (Madrid) | 912 345 678 | +34 912 345 678 |
Which apps do people verify with a Spanish number?
Every app sets its own rules, and acceptance can change from week to week, so TempSMSVerify never promises that a given service will take a number. These are common reasons people pick Spain. The catalog shows live stock and the current price for each app before you buy.
| App or service | Typical reason for a Spanish number | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| The everyday channel for landlords, shops and services in Spain | /temp-number/whatsapp | |
| Wallapop | SMS code during registration | /temp-number |
| Google / Gmail | Phone check when creating an account | /temp-number/google |
| Uber | Rider account in Spanish cities | /temp-number/uber |
| Tinder | Code sent at registration | /temp-number/tinder |
| Telegram | Spanish-language channels and groups | /temp-number/telegram |
Do Spanish SIM rules affect a temporary number?
Spain has required identity registration for prepaid SIM cards since Law 25/2007 of October 18, 2007, on the retention of electronic communications data, so buying a Spanish SIM means showing a DNI, NIE or passport. That makes a physical SIM hard to get before you arrive. Numbers sold for verification are sourced through line providers instead, which is how you can get a +34 number from abroad.
Spanish apps fall under the EU's GDPR and Spain's own data protection law when they store your number. Those rules protect your data inside the app; they do not change whether the app accepts a number. Use the number only for your own accounts and follow our policy at /acceptable-use.
Will a Spanish temporary number work with every app?
Not always. Line types vary by provider, and TempSMSVerify does not market its Spanish numbers as carrier SIM lines. Some apps run a carrier lookup and refuse numbers they classify as virtual or as previously used, and results change over time.
You never pay for a number that does not deliver. The price stays frozen while the number is reserved for up to 20 minutes; if the code arrives you are charged, and if it does not you cancel after about 2 minutes or let it expire and get the full amount back. Then try a new number or another of the 140+ countries in the catalog.
Tips for verifying with a Spanish number
A few habits save time with +34 numbers.
- Select Spain (+34) and type all 9 digits; there is no 0 to drop
- Make sure the form did not pick Mexico (+52) or another Spanish-speaking country by default
- Request the SMS right after the number is reserved
- Wait a minute or two before tapping Reenviar código; codes usually arrive within seconds to a few minutes
- Add a recovery email or authenticator app once you are in, because the number is temporary
FAQ
Spain temporary number FAQ
Can I get a Spanish phone number for verification from outside Spain?
Yes. TempSMSVerify works over the internet, so you can get a +34 Spanish number from any country without a DNI or NIE. Choose the app, select Spain and enter the number in the sign-up form. The code appears in your dashboard, and you are charged only if the SMS arrives. Some apps also check your location, which a number does not change.
Do Spanish numbers have a leading 0?
No. Spanish numbers are always 9 digits and have no trunk prefix, so the digits you dial inside Spain are the same ones you type after +34. Mobile numbers start with 6 or 7, landlines with 8 or 9. If the app's picker shows Spain (+34), paste the 9 digits from your dashboard exactly as they appear.
How much does a Spain temporary number cost?
The price depends on the app and on current stock, and you see it before you buy; the live price index at /temp-number-prices compares apps side by side. There is no subscription. Top up at least $5 once, and each number is charged only if its code arrives. Otherwise the frozen amount is refunded automatically.
Can I use a Spanish temporary number for Wallapop?
Wallapop sends an SMS code when you register, so a +34 number is the natural choice. Whether a specific number is accepted depends on Wallapop's own checks, which can change, so test with one number. If the code never arrives, you are not charged. Use it only for your own account and respect the marketplace's terms.
Is a virtual Spanish phone number a mobile number?
Numbers are usually in Spanish mobile ranges, but line types vary by provider and TempSMSVerify does not claim they are carrier SIM lines. Some apps check the number type and may refuse certain numbers. Because you pay only when a code arrives, a refused number is never charged; cancel after about 2 minutes or let it expire.
Can I keep the same Spanish number for future logins?
No. These are temporary numbers for a single verification, released after up to 20 minutes, so you cannot count on getting the same one back. Once you are verified, add a recovery email, an authenticator app or a phone number you own to the account so you never depend on the temporary number to sign in.
Which payment methods can I use for a Spanish number?
TempSMSVerify currently accepts Card via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay); Crypto (USDC or SOL on Solana), with a minimum top-up of $5. Card top-ups carry a 10% processing fee; crypto has none. Your balance never expires, so you can top up once and use it for several verifications across countries and apps. Payment questions can go to [email protected].
