Thai phone numbers for SMS verification
A Thailand temporary number gives you a +66 Thai number for one sign-up, so you can receive a verification code from apps that expect a number from Thailand. TempSMSVerify reserves the number in your browser, shows the code as soon as it lands and charges you only if the SMS actually arrives.

Why do apps ask for a Thai phone number?
LINE is the default messenger in Thailand, used by friends, landlords, schools and businesses alike, and it registers accounts with a phone number and an SMS code. Ride and delivery apps (Grab, LINE MAN, Bolt), shopping apps (Shopee, Lazada) and many local services also confirm accounts with a code sent to a Thai number.
Long-stay visitors, digital nomads in Chiang Mai, students and companies selling into Thailand often want a +66 number to set accounts up, and Thai SIMs have become harder to keep as identity rules tightened. Developers use Thai numbers to test a 9-digit format with three different mobile prefixes.
- Creating a LINE account for Thai colleagues, landlords or classes
- Setting up ride, delivery and shopping apps before arriving
- Testing +66 numbers in your own app
- Keeping your personal number off a one-time sign-up
What does a Thai mobile number look like?
Thai mobile numbers have 10 digits in national format, starting with 06, 08 or 09, for example 081 234 5678. Landlines have 9 digits and start with 02 for Bangkok or another 0X code for the provinces. As in most countries, the 0 is a domestic prefix.
In international format you drop the 0 and add +66, so 081 234 5678 becomes +66 81 234 5678. If the app shows a Thailand (+66) picker, type the 9 digits that follow the 0. Writing +66 0... is a common reason a Thai code never arrives.
| National format | International format | |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile example | 081 234 5678 | +66 81 234 5678 |
| Mobile prefixes | 06, 08, 09 | +66 6, 8, 9 |
| Digits (mobile) | 10 including the 0 | 9 after +66 |
| Landline example (Bangkok) | 02 123 4567 | +66 2 123 4567 |
Which apps do people verify with a Thai number?
Every app sets its own rules, and acceptance can change from week to week, so TempSMSVerify never promises that a given service will take a number. These are common reasons people pick Thailand. The catalog shows live stock and the current price for each app before you buy.
| App or service | Typical reason for a Thai number | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| LINE | Registration with phone number and SMS code | /temp-number/line |
| Code during sign-up or security review | /temp-number/facebook | |
| Shopee | Code at sign-up and on new devices | /temp-number/shopee |
| TikTok | Code at sign-up or login | /temp-number/tiktok |
| Google / Gmail | Phone check when creating an account | /temp-number/google |
| Grab, LINE MAN, Lazada | Phone used to confirm the account | /temp-number |
How do Thailand's SIM rules affect a temporary number?
Thailand has steadily tightened SIM registration to fight call-center and SMS scams. The regulator, the NBTC, made people holding many SIMs re-verify their identity, capped the number of lines per person, and in 2025 ordered operators to use real-time biometric liveness checks for new registrations and SIM changes. Rules in force since May 2026 limit non-Thai nationals to three SIMs per operator, verified with a passport.
So a Thai SIM now requires an in-person or biometric ID check. A temporary number on TempSMSVerify comes through line providers and is used for one verification; it is not a way around Thai identity rules for services that require them, such as banks and e-wallets. Apps that store your number also fall under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. Use numbers only for your own accounts under /acceptable-use.
Will a Thai temporary number work with every app?
Not always. Line types vary by provider, and TempSMSVerify does not market its Thai numbers as carrier SIM lines. Stock for Thailand can be thinner than for larger markets, and some apps refuse numbers they classify as virtual or previously used.
That risk stays with the billing model, not with you. The price is frozen while the number is reserved for up to 20 minutes and charged only when the code arrives. If it does not, cancel after about 2 minutes or let it expire and the full amount returns to your balance, ready for another number or another of the 140+ countries in the catalog, such as Malaysia or Vietnam.

- For a LINE account you plan to keep, add an email and move to a number you own once you are in
FAQ
Thailand temporary number FAQ
Can I get a Thai phone number for verification from outside Thailand?
Yes. TempSMSVerify works over the internet, so you can get a +66 Thai number from any country without a Thai SIM or passport check. Choose the app, select Thailand and enter the number in the sign-up form. The code appears in your dashboard, and you are charged only if the SMS arrives. Some apps also check your location, which a number does not change.
Can I use a Thailand temporary number for LINE?
LINE registers accounts with a phone number and an SMS code, so a +66 number is a common choice, and LINE appears in the TempSMSVerify catalog when stock is available. Acceptance depends on LINE's own checks. Because the number is temporary, add an email address to the account and link a number you own if you plan to keep it.
How much does a Thailand temporary number cost?
The price depends on the app and on current stock, and you see it before you buy; the live price index at /temp-number-prices compares apps side by side. There is no subscription. Top up at least $5 once, and each number is charged only if its code arrives. Otherwise the frozen amount is refunded automatically.
Should I type +66 08 or +66 8?
Type +66 8 (or +66 6, +66 9). The 0 at the start of a Thai number is only used inside Thailand, so 081 234 5678 becomes +66 81 234 5678. If the app's country picker already shows Thailand (+66), paste only the 9 digits that follow the 0, exactly as they appear in your dashboard.
Is a virtual Thai phone number a mobile number?
Numbers are usually in Thai mobile ranges, but line types vary by provider and TempSMSVerify does not claim they are carrier SIM lines. Some apps check the number type and may refuse certain numbers. Because you pay only when a code arrives, a refused number is never charged; cancel after about 2 minutes or let it expire and the amount returns to your balance.
Can I keep the same Thai number for future logins?
No. These are temporary numbers for a single verification, released after up to 20 minutes, so you cannot count on getting the same one back. Once you are verified, add a recovery email, an authenticator app or a phone number you own to the account so you never depend on the temporary number to sign in.
Which payment methods can I use for a Thai number?
TempSMSVerify currently accepts Card via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay); Crypto (USDC or SOL on Solana), with a minimum top-up of $5. Card top-ups carry a 10% processing fee; crypto has none. Your balance never expires, so you can top up once and use it for several verifications across countries and apps. Payment questions can go to [email protected].
