How does the Shopee verification code work?
Shopee asks for a mobile number when you create an account, and it texts a one-time password to confirm it. The same OTP flow comes back when you log in on a new phone, reset your password, or change account details such as your number or bank information.
Shopee's Malaysia help centre says to stay on the OTP page, give the message up to 60 seconds, and only then request a new one, with a maximum of four retries. Tapping resend sooner does not speed anything up and can lock the page for a while.
Pick the number from the same country as your Shopee site
Shopee is not one global store. Shopee Malaysia, Shopee Philippines, Shopee Singapore, Shopee Thailand, Shopee Vietnam, Shopee Indonesia, Shopee Taiwan and Shopee Brazil each run their own site and app region, and the sign-up form usually expects a number with that country's calling code.
Before you buy, check which Shopee site you are on (the domain, such as shopee.com.my or shopee.ph, tells you). Then pick that country in the TempSMSVerify catalog. A number from a different country is the most common reason Shopee says the number is invalid.

Your Shopee number keeps mattering after the first OTP. Shopee may ask for a fresh code before a password change, a new bank account or card, or a ShopeePay or SPayLater action, and those codes go to the number on file. A TempSMSVerify number only receives messages for up to 20 minutes.

Does Shopee require a phone number?
